Seb Marshall Rallying

From Lows To Highs In Sardinia

07/06/2010

Co-Driver Seb Marshall scored a great result on the Italian island of Sardinia, bouncing back from a disappointing weekend on the second round of the JWRC & FSTi the Rally de Portugal where he and driver Harry Hunt endured a difficult rally hampered by the rough stages.

Having celebrated his 22nd birthday stranded at the side of the road in Portugal Seb was keen to make amends on the following event, the Rally d'Italia Sardegna, a round of the Intercontinental Rally Challenge. Despite being plagued by dust for the whole event, catching slower cars and having to reduce their own pace, the young pair managed to survive a notoriously challenging event.

While others fell by the way side, Hunt and Marshall finished an incredible 12th overall and 1st in the IRC 2WD standings. This result now places them as joint leaders in that championship heading to the next round, the Ypres Rally in Belgium.

Indeed, the trials in Portugal were not all in vain either as the pair did finish the event in 5th place with a number of fastest Fiesta stage times to their name, and so increased their advantage at the top of the standings in the FSTi championship, and the FIA JWRC Rookie Cup.

"It's been a great result this weekend in Sardinia, just what was needed after the difficulties we encountered in Portugal" commented Seb. "Both have been really tough rallies, and we've come away having gained a lot of valuable experience."
