Seb Enjoys Teams' Title Triumph In Yorkshire
30/09/2009
Co-Driver Seb Marshall concluded his British Rally Championship season alongside Pirelli Star Driver Adam Gould by finishing in 4th place on the International Rally Yorkshire, securing the MSA British Teams' Championship for Pirelli TEG Sport.
The young duo faced a new challenge as they adapted to the Subaru Impreza N11 normally piloted by their team mate Mark Higgins. Gould had offered Higgins the use of the newer N15 specification Impreza in an effort to boost his Drivers' Championship challenge.
The MSA British Rally Elite pairing sought to establish a comfortable pace that would ensure the team were victorious in British Teams Championship. Despite the low morning sun and hanging dust in the rapid Yorkshire stages, Adam and Seb were pleased to be lying in a tense battle with three other drivers at the halfway point.
Mindful of the rally-ending accidents on the previous two events, the crew adopted a considered approach to the afternoon stages and returned to the rally finish in Pickering in a brilliant fourth position, having pipped rival Dave Weston Jnr on the final stage.
"It's been a great event to finish the season and we're delighted to bring home the Team's championship." said Seb, "It's great recognition for the fantastic efforts the guys at TEG Sport have put in this year, providing us with a reliable car, and so thanks must go to them and Pirelli for providing this great opportunity."
